Position Purpose
Responsible for all requirements associated with the postioin of Business Manager and Human Resource Director for our small, rural school district. Please see the below requirements to provide the overview of expectations.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepares and manages internal financial reports pertaining to District operations.
- Completes and maintains accurate payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable data and reports to Superintendent consistently and the Board monthly.
- Administrates tax withholding, payments and workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance activity as per legal requirements.
- Reconciles General Fund, Insurance Reserve, Capital Projects, and Bond Redemption Fund bank statements.
- Prepares for and helps present annual independent audit.
- Prepares and submits all state reports as required.
- Manages and completes all reporting requirements for State and Federal Grants.
- Implements accounting procedures and control methods for daily operations.
- Participates in review, revision and accountability processes to improve and maintain fiscal operations.
- Supervises the collection, receipt and accounting of all monies collected for school funds.
- Preparation of contracts, memorandum of agreements, notice of assignments, and other documents impacting the business of the District, including meeting legal requirements for annual mill levies and reporting to state and county authorities.
- Insures employee benefits are maintained and employees are well informed.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing equipment and materials.
- Assist and works collaboratively with custodial services on the maintenance and upkeep of the building.
- Assist Superintendent in budgeting related activities including preparation of preliminary budget estimates, adopted budget posting and associated resolutions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by the Superintendent.

- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Demonstrate ability to work efficiently within various computer programing, database, and spread sheet applications,

- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders contacted within the course of work requirements.
- Familiar with Educational Chart of Accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all District, State and Federal legal requirements.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
